The Academy of Building Industries celebrated the graduation of 27 students from the class of 2024, marking the culmination of their high school journey at a ceremony held at Young Scholars Academy. Superintendent Jean Thomas highlighted the resilience and achievements of the graduates, many of whom earned specialized certificates in trades such as construction and welding, and some in community service. The event also recognized three students from the Fire Academy, ready to embark on careers as firefighters. Valedictorian Hannah Walker and salutatorian Max Padilla both spoke of overcoming challenges, particularly those posed by starting high school during the COVID-19 pandemic, to reach this milestone.
