Students from the Academy of Building Industries (AOBI) showcased their craftsmanship by constructing a custom mahogany conference table for the Fort Mojave Mesa Fire Department (FMMFD). This project, led by AOBI's vocational director and woodshop teacher Paula DeShaw, allowed students to apply their skills in woodshop and metal shop, creating a piece that includes meaningful symbols such as fire hydrants representing different ranks within the fire service. The table, praised as a potential heirloom by FMMFD board director Catherine Lopez-Rajaniemi, exemplifies the practical application of student learning and community contribution.
