Welcome to the Village of Machesney Park, and thank you for visiting! The Village of Machesney Park is unique in the fact that here, neighbors say “Hello” by name and visitors are welcomed with open arms and a smile.  Located just miles north of Rockford, Machesney Park abuts the beautiful Rock River and is one of the most sought after places to live in the IL/WI stateline area. Currently, some 23,500 residents call Machesney Park home, however our community is experiencing significant commercial and residential growth. Residents are encouraged to play an active role in their community, as well as their local government.

Officially incorporating in 1981, Machesney Park has a rich history in aviation as a result of Fred Machesney, a barnstorming aviator who took residence in the area in the 1920s. Mr. Machesney’s impact on the area will forever live on as residents honored him by utilizing his last name in the naming of the Village. Mr. Machesney’s bi-planes once soared high in the local skies, however his spirit of pride, passion, and progress will forever remain.
